This site provides information and material for WHGSAR training.
We always meet the last Sunday of the month throughout the year. There is also training the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month depending upon training needs and the season. The end of the month training takes place at the building in Mt. Denson, 821 Highway #1. See map and calendar below. |
There is a calendar of training at the bottom of the page. You may attend Valley SAR training. If you plan to attend HRSAR training you must have first completed a field assessment facilitated by the Halifax Trainers. |

October 2022 Training
WELCOME TO FALL!! Training: October 13/ 7:30pm: Searching + Find Site + Lost Person Behaviour: Session will be held outdoors. Location: Irishman's Road Recreation Site October 27/ 7:30pm: Map and Compass / Advanced Navigation: Members that require navigation training or want to refresh their skills will attend Part 1 of the Map and Compass course. Online Courses for SAR MembersICS 100 Training Ongoing
As a member of SAR you will also need to complete an ICS 100 online self study course available through the province. The link is as follows, www.weicourses.com/register.php?l=12313734013587, and you will receive sign in number by email. Remember to print off your certificate for the records.
